Titleist Staff player Jimmy Walker wrapped up the final Major of the year in impressive style. Having led the PGA Championship from round one, Walker and defending champion Jason Day provided a dramatic ending on Sunday. Day’s stunning approach to 18 (click to view at the bottom of my newsletter), which set up eagle, put the pressure on Walker, but he held his nerve to capture his first Major title.
Meanwhile, back at Goring & Streatley, the captain and pro managed a nice little victory over the newly crowned club champion Matt McCleery and Richard Lee on Saturday afternoon. After a fast start with birdies on the opening three holes, Margaret and Matt then cruised round to a 5&4 victory with a betterball score of eight-under-par for the 14 holes. More dates are now available for any challengers looking to take us on.
We are looking into to running a tuition break later in the year to a warmer climate; the emphasis being on improving your short game from 100 yards and in. Keep an eye out for more details in the coming weeks.
We've been appointed a Get into Golf Academy at Goring & Streatley.
